Adsorbents for Dehydration of Petrochemical Streams

You can use UOP activated alumina and molecular sieve adsorbents in multiple locations for the dehydration of gaseous and liquid petrochemical streams. They can help protect catalysts, prevent equipment corrosion, meet product specifications, and prevent cryogenic processes from freezing up. We can provide you with effective designs and commercially proven adsorbent products, and we’ll work with you to help you select the optimal adsorbent for each of your applications.

Petrochemical streams are typically more reactive and can contain contaminants that may not be native to naturally occurring fractions of these streams. Because of these factors, generic products often do not work as well as advertised. UOP is well positioned to address your processing needs and deliver the adsorbents to handle your particular stream.

UOP’s spherical activated aluminas are used in a variety of gas and liquid drying applications. These products have a high surface area and are resistant to abrasion. Their excellent adsorption and desorption characteristics make them especially suitable for heatless (pressure swing) dryers where the desiccant is subject to harsh mechanical conditions.

To learn more about how adsorbents can help you optimize your plant, contact us directly using our information request form, or by calling one of our worldwide sales offices.
