Adsorbents for Butanes and Butylenes
Butanes and butylenes are formed as by-products from refinery streams
or as field butanes from condensate fractionation. These streams are
valuable intermediate components in refineries and petrochemical plants.
Depending upon the application, the C4 fractions must be dried or purified
in order to protect the catalysts downstream. Look to UOP specialty adsorbents
for purification of C4 streams to protect complete saturation, selective hydrogenation,
or polymerization catalysts. UOP adsorbents can be used for dehydration as
well as purification to remove sulfur species, oxygenates, and nitrogen compounds,
as well as mercury, chlorides, fluorides and arsine.
UOP has the knowledge and the capabilities to solve your toughest adsorbent
problems. We can design, troubleshoot, and supply your molecular sieve or specialty
alumina adsorbents from a single source.
