Ethylene Production
UOP can provide you with the process technology, equipment, catalysts
and adsorbents you need to make your ethylene production more cost-effective.
Most ethylene used for petrochemical applications is produced by steam
cracking of naphtha or natural gas liquids.
The MaxEne process allows ethylene producers and refiners to achieve higher
yields and improved competitiveness by optimizing the utilization of their
naphtha feedstocks. The MaxEne process separates the naphtha components such
that the components best suited for ethylene production can be charged to a
steam cracker and the other components (best suited for motor fuel production)
can be charged to a reforming unit in a refinery.
The ATOFINA/UOP Olefin Cracking process can be integrated with a steam cracking
plant and/or refinery to increase your light olefin yields by converting low
value C4 - C8 olefin by-products to ethylene and propylene.
The UOP/HYDRO MTO process enables you to produce ethylene and propylene from
natural gas (methane) feedstock by converting methanol to olefins. The MTO
process offers a competitive alternative for ethylene and propylene production
by utilizing stranded natural gas.
