New Chief Technology Officer Announced

Outgoing CTO, Stan Gembicki, to support transition into Q1 2007

Dr. Rajeev Gautam has been appointed to the position of Vice President and Chief Technology Officer overseeing Research & Development for UOP, effective August 1. Dr. Gautam replaces Dr. Stanley Gembicki who is planning to retire in the first quarter of 2007.

Dr. Gautam, a 19-year UOP employee, joined UOP from Union Carbide where he began his career in 1978. He brings extensive experience and knowledge to this leadership role within UOP, most recently as director of development for the refining process technology area. Prior to that, he was director within R&D technology centers and senior manager of CCR Platforming and isomerization technologies. Dr. Gautam has also held positions in aromatics derivatives, adsorption technology, and molecular sieve R&D. Dr. Gautam earned his B.S. in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India; M.S. in chemical engineering from Drexel University, and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, both in Philadelphia; and his MBA from the University of Chicago in 2003.

For the balance of 2006 and the first part of 2007, Dr. Gembicki will continue to play an important role assisting the new CTO in implementing R&D’s renewed focus on breakthrough technologies, deploying the open innovation strategy, and to ensure a balanced R&D project portfolio with strong drivers for customer focus. In addition, Dr. Gembicki will continue to develop external alliances.

UOP became a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell in December 2005.
