Platforming Technology
UOP designed the world’s first Platforming unit in 1949. Since
that time, we’ve designed more than 700 Platforming units for
refineries around the world. We look forward to building upon our proven
50+ year track record to make your Platforming project a success.
In the Platforming process, naphtha feedstock is processed over a
platinum-containing catalyst to produce reformate and hydrogen. Reformate
is a high octane, low sulfur, blending component used in the production
of gasoline. Reformate has a high aromatic content and is commonly
used as a feedstock to an aromatics complex producing benzene, toluene
and xylene.
When it comes to the Platforming process, UOP can deliver the total
technology package for your refinery. We can provide the basic engineering
package and catalyst for you to build and operate a Platforming unit.
We can also supply key equipment and engineering services for your
new or revamped Platforming unit. No matter what your needs, the UOP
experts will be with you to assist you at every step of your operation.
