One of our
most widely used pieces of equipment is the UOP drier regeneration
control system (DRCS), which performs key unit operations functions
while minimizing manual involvement and therefore operations expense.
UOP’s gas and liquid driers in Butamer process units or Penex
process units perform the important task of safeguarding the catalyst
from water vapor in the makeup hydrogen and hydrocarbon feed. This
is crucial because water vapor permanently deactivates high activity
chlorided alumina isomerization catalyst. Therefore, the driers must
be regenerated properly and in a timely fashion.
