Green Chemicals
UOP is looking for opportunities to offer technologies that will
convert low-cost biological feedstocks and biomass waste into valuable
chemical compounds. Cost-effective and high quality renewable
chemicals will not only drive new options and sources for chemicals, but
they will also help producers to meet current and future regulations for
greenhouse gas emissions.
Green Propylene Glycol
UOP is developing a process to convert glycerol, a byproduct of
biodiesel production, into propylene glycol - a compound widely found in
anti-freeze, liquid detergents, cosmetics, personal care products and
pharmaceuticals.
