Our pilots are ignited in our U.S. test facility before they ship, reducing site problems and helping maintain site schedules. Our latest technology, the Scepter Pilot, is ideal for the challenging conditions including rain and steam. Designed in our world-class research and test facility, the Callidus Scepter Pilot was created to withstand even the most rigorous conditions found in the refining and petrochemical industries. Available in two models – the original permanent Scepter Pilot and the Scepter Model P1 portable lighter – each Scepter Pilot boasts high technical performance you can count on.

With self-contained electronics, stainless steel construction throughout, hermetically sealed flame and ignition rods, the Scepter Pilots stand up to rough handling and severe service. The internal high energy igniter cannot short out and the flame rod is impervious to moisture, providing reliable spark ignition, light-off and monitoring.

Callidus traditional pilots provide proven high stability at low costs. Traditional pilot technology has been around for many years and is used as the primary pilot technology. The stability of Callidus traditional pilots has been tested extensively internally and at major refineries over the years and has proven to produce superior combustion stability over a broad operating range.

  • Traditional pilots include:
    • Manual Pilots: This pilot must be lit by a hand-held torch or hand-held igniter
    • Electric Pilots: This pilot consists of a pilot with a mechanism permanently installed on the pilot to light the pilot.
    • Electric Pilots with Flame Rod: In addition to the permanently attached electric ignition feature, this pilot also utilizes a flame rod that is used to detect a pilot flame.
    • Manual Pilots with Flame Rod: The last configuration consists of a manual pilot with flame rod.
