IONSIV Selective Media have been used in the nuclear industry for more than 40 years and are currently being used to remove nuclear fission products from water at Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

IONSIV Selective Media are microporous, inorganic, crystalline adsorbents that exhibit high selectivity and capacity for radionuclides in the presence of high concentrations of competing cations. These adsorbents retain their physical integrity and selectivity over a broad pH range in the presence of high levels of ionizing radiation and exhibit a high resistance to attrition.

UOP’s portfolio of Selective Media, including alumino silicates (zeolites) and crystalline silicotitanates, allows you to tailor a solution for your needs.
